John MacConnachie of Carradale started fishing when he was 14 years old and then became a skipper onboard the Florentine, CN197. After the end of the ring net (c.1973) he went into clam fishing.

‘Florentine’, CN197, was a ringnetter built by Nobles of Fraserburgh in 1932. She was previously registered as ‘Mallaig Mhor’.
