  • Portrait of Andrew McCrindle, Girvan. Mr McCrindle, known locally as 'Tarry' was Skipper of the 'Aliped IX', BA234.

  • Portrait of Mr Weatherhead. Mr Weatherhead was a boatbuilder in Cockenzie but he built several ringnetters for west coast owners, including 'Aliped VII', BA220, for the McCrindle family of Girvan.

  • Boat pulling smaller boat out of harbour, Carradale. Engines came into use in the early 1900s. Robert Robertson of Campbeltown installed a 7.9HP Kelving in his 35ft skiff, 'The Brothers'.
