Use of Material on the Site
By using this website you agree to the terms and conditions of use and unless otherwise agreed in writing, all audio and visual resources supplied via this site are for personal use only.
Users agree that they will not (and will not permit another person or entity to) sell, transfer, or use in any commercial manner, the audio or visual materials held of the Casting the Net website. Users acknowledge and agree that they receive no rights or ownership of any type in or with respect to the materials displayed on the Casting the Net website and that all rights remain the property of their respective owners.
Authority for reproduction for any type of publication, broadcast or exhibition must be obtained by completing a separate application form.
Sharing your Material (audio, video or image) with the Project
We would encourage users to share relevant material with the project under the following conditions:
Acceptance of material and its inclusion on the website will be solely at the discretion of the Project Partners.
Acceptance of material and its inclusion in the collection of the Scottish Fisheries Museum will be solely at the discretion of the governing body of the Museum.
Donors of material are responsible, to the best of their ability, for ascertaining the rights or ownership of any type in or with respect to the materials shared with the Casting the Net project.
Donors of material to the Casting the Net project agree to transfer absolute ownership of those items together with any rights of copyright or reproduction held by the owner to the governing body of the Scottish Fisheries Museum without condition other than that the governing body will hold the items in trust for use by its museum for its purpose and in accordance with those provisions of the Museums Accreditation Standard in force at the time of the gift. In addition, the owner (or authorised person) permits the museum to capture, store, edit and transmit any narrative or intellectual material associated with the item at the point of acquisition or thereafter irrespective of format and in perpetuity.

The Project Partners respect the rights of all photographers, artists and copyright holders. To the best of our knowledge, all works on this website are presented with the consent of the copyright holder. Please contact us if you have any reason to believe that we do not hold reproduction rights to specific images, video or audio.
No audio and visual resources from this website may be reproduced, transmitted or copied (other than for the purposes of private research) without first having obtained written permission from the Scottish Fisheries Museum. If you wish to reproduce material in a publication, on a website, or in any commercial context, please contact us to submit a reproduction request.
